New Years Day Auction Summary

Hudson Valley Auctioneers, located at 432 Main Street, Beacon, New York will celebrate New Years Day 2026 with an unreserved antique and estate auction with absentee, phone and online bidding with Liveauctioneers.com on Thursday January 1st 1:00 PM EST.  In house previews are Sunday 12/28 from 1pm-5pm, Wednesday 12/31 2pm-5pm and Thursday the first from 10 noon- 12:30pm or by appointment from December 22nd. Traditionally one of our best sales of the year, this auction will offer 475 lots of traditional antiques, fine 19th decorative items and furniture and a wide variety of sought after treasure. A large portion of the sale comes from a long held storage of generational collectors scouting the Hudson Valley and beyond for decades.                                                                                                                                                                                              This sale begins with Asian items highlighted by several fine carved jades, various porcelains, bronzes, marble and carved rosewood furniture and several artworks .  Expect a large offering of silver flatware and hollowware, at least 14 gold coins and a small selection of fine and costume estate jewelry. Mid century items include works and makers Robsjohn Gibbings, Lafer, Paul McCobb, 2 Eames lounge chairs, Bertoia, Cy Mann, Gambone, Bitossi, Barovier, a fine Medina half size carved figure of a Mexican woman, a pair of Knoll ottomans, rosewood and teak furniture and more arriving daily. 

Painters represented in the sale include works by Hondius, William Benger, C.M. Clowes, J.H.S. d Haas, Pierre Lucien, Frank Anderson, Olive P. Black, several by Louise Abrams and Devis Grebu and many others. Several fine frames will be offered led by a signed carved and gilt Carrig-Rohane and  possibly another unsigned by the same maker and several other period frames.

An exceptional offering of fine painted porcelain plaques by KPM and other makers, a rare Ludwig Holwein stein, 3 Mettlach chargers, a rare Charles Graham pottery salt glazed garden seat, other fine glass and china and several fine clocks will be offered throughout. For Napoleon Bonaparte aficionados, the sale has combined two collections, to offer nearly 50 lots of 19th century, bronze, porcelain and alabaster Napoleon and Josephine figures, portraits and other items directly related to the pair and the period.  Fine bronzes include premier works by Moigniez, Bouret, Harry Herman Wickey, Moreau, Stella, Lieberich, Debut, Fletcher, Detrier, Coustou and Clyde Ball among others.

Other items of interest include a rare NY cast iron stove possibly made for the Columbian Exhibition by Sam S. Utter, several antique table top mannequin dress forms with a plus size vintage Wolf dress form, a small collection of vintage guitars including a rare 1965 white Fender Precision Base, several estate carpets, a rare 1986 Honda model Z50A/R motorcycle, a large crystal and bronze Baccarat chandelier from a NYC mansion, a large selection 19th furniture including a fine rosewood marble columned pier table and a small Victorian garden selection.

Weekend appointments can be arranged for limited pickups if invoices are prepaid.
