Each auction is posted online, currently we use the Live Auctioneers platform to allow bidders worldwide to participate in the auction, registration on Live Auctioneers is free, once you have registered with Live Auctioneers you can sign up for our next scheduled auction.
A note on online participation, Live Auctioneers, as other platforms such as Invaluable have a certain number of bidders that bid on items with no intention of paying, this causes a problem for auction houses who have contractual obligations with their consigners, therefore we only auto-approve bidders with a proven track record.
If you are a recent member, have active disputes, or have limited auction history on the platform, you will not be automatically approved. In such cases contact our office so we can verbally confirm all contact information & briefly go over the more important terms of sale.
Notable terms of sale are:
- All items need to be paid within 7 business days from the day of sale.
- All items must be picked up. Pick up has to be arranged within 10 business days from the day of sale, a $10 storage fee, per lot per item will be applied unless prior arrangements have been made.
- All shipping done by third party shippers, we will take your items to a shipper of your choice, we do not ship in-house, note that shipping internationally can be costly, get multiple quotes.
- All items sold as is, as found, all sales final.
Aside from internet bidding you can also arrange bidding by absentee bids or phone bids
The buyer’s premium on any item purchased is 25%, regardless of method of payment.
Absentee Bids forms, received on auction day after 4pm will not be processed by HVA.
