Hudson Valley Auctioneers located at 432 Main Street Beacon, New York will present a two session unreserved estate auction on Monday April 15th at 5:00 PM. The sale includes estate and accumulations from Garrison, Wappingers Falls, Yonkers and NYC in New York as well as Alpine, New Jersey and Ridgefield, Connecticut. Additional consignments from several long time associates and gallery offerings round out the sale of approximately 550 fresh to the market lots. Session One offers online bidding with Liveauctioneers.com as well as in house, absentee and phone bidding. 


Asian and Chinese items start the sale as they have in recent sales and this months offering includes two large early paintings, one with a Christie's London label, several pieces antique teak, rosewood and painted provincial furniture, several interesting porcelains, carved jades, a large Satsuma palace urn, cloisonne and bronzes. Several oriental pattern carpets, several roomsize may be led by a beautiful roomsize savonnerie "oushak" originally from the estate of David Sarnoff. 
 
Continental and American furniture feature in both sessions with highlights such as several wax pine pieces, several pieces 19th century mahogany and cherry pieces including a Phyffe sofa originally purchased from the Cold Spring shop of Anne Stromberg complemented by an eclectic collection of decorative accessories; excellent carved Black Forest bear hall tree and carved bear smoke stand, Egyptian marble and bronze aesthetic clock, LeCoultre, a large French carriage clock with three bells, a fine carved marble bust, fine porcelains including Royal Copenhagen, Lladro, B and G, gilt mirrors, several hundred ounces of silver flatware and hollow ware, estate jewelry and lighting. 
 
Mid Century highlights include lots of Danish teak, two pieces Edmund Spence bedroom chests, a Salterini "clam shell" iron set, Bertoia chairs, a rare Columbia 360 stereo on stand, a G. Nelson dining table and a Plycraft dinette set are among the many offerings. Gallery favorites: a set of four Art Deco silver and nickeled bronze and glass tabletop jewelry showcases and a rare Gustav Stickley #817 eight leg sideboard in wonderful condition except for the finish.
A collection of 15 vintage Hollywood movie posters for the South American market are in excellent condition and color. 
 
A collection that will invite interest from some and perhaps disdain from others given the reactions from gallery visitors during the last week is a fine collection North American and African taxidermy trophies. Mounts include American Buffalo, Black Buck antelope, American elk, Alaskan moose, American antelope, African Kudu, Water Buck, Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Water Buffalo and Impala.

Artworks are numerous and scattered throughout both sessions with examples by Henry Gasser, William MacDonough, three signed Erte, large Yuri Metelski or Metielsky of "Chinatown", Johannes Schiefer, an Anthony Toney citiscape, Emily Mason abstract, Albert Alcalay abstract, large William Skilling still life, several by Milton Lunin and many others. 
Session Two follows with 200 plus lots of more of the same interesting quality lots which will not offer online bidding and features great accessories, lighting, several room size and scatter
