September 15th Fall Extravaganza !

Hudson Valley Auctioneers, located at 432 Main Street, Beacon, New York will present an unreserved antique and estate auction with absentee, phone and online bidding through Liveauctioneers.com on Monday Monday September 15th at 5:00 PM EST.  In house preview is Sunday prior from 1pm-5pm and Monday from 2:00pm-4:30 pm. and features combined estates from Westport CT.; Heritage Hills, Somers; Tarrytown NY; Garrison NY, collections from Gramercy Park NYC, northern Mass. and many others. Another eclectic offering over 550 fresh to the market goods.

Expect to find a large selection of Arts and Crafts period oak furniture with many Stickley pieces, art and studio pottery, large lighting selection including many panel lamps, period lamp bases, Hammerton Studios chandeliers and decorative accessories from the period.

A rare offering of 22 original United States patent models acquired directly from O'Rundell and Richards Gilbert. A large selection antique furniture featuring an excellent bookcase secretary signed T. Timpson, ex Israel Sack with a letter by Sack describing it to the eventual buyer, a not to be overlooked swing leg drop leaf dining table with stylized dolphin foot and carved knees, a large selection Biedermeier examples primarily from an old NY club and a Sleepy Hollow NY estate and a collection of country furnishings from an old Rosendale NY mountaintop cabin.

Also from the Sleepy Hollow estate comes a collection of train related material amassed by a German American typesetter whose interest spanned all aspects of the US train system. The collection includes a very large collection Baltimore and Ohio Railroad china, a collection of train related stereopticon cards, several lanterns, telegraph insulators, an Edison poster and Marklin, Lionel and KBN toy trains. 

A selection of artwork from many periods is led by a recently discovered pastoral scene by Aaron Draper Shattuck and is joined by the works of Arthur Kurtz, Romero Britto, Samuel Bell Waugh, Marcotte de Quivieres, Andrew Vargish, A. Maillol, Carole Kunstadt, E.L. Sumner, James Coignard, Fran Ferryman, John McClellan, George Parker, Steve Story (5), Judith Holt (6) and many others. 

The ever popular Mid Century Modern grouping this sale has several stand outs including a period Eames lounge and ottoman and 4 swivel chairs, a pair of Sigurd Ressel "Falcon" chairs, 3 pieces Hamada Shoji  studio pottery along with potters Margaret Israel, Hiroshi Nakayama and Carles Graham, wood works by Kelly Donn and Timothy Lydgate, an early Plycraft chair, Wright Steubenville and Iroquois sets and 4 Aalto stools.

A fine pair of bronze Meiji period planters, a large polychrome wooden Japanese parade dragon and several groups of Chinese porcelain are scattered throughout. Country smalls including stoneware, textiles, decorative accessories, fine china sets, a large selection of Persian and Asian carpets, clocks, bronzes, signs and hundreds of ounces of sterling hollowware and flatware will also join the fray. 

Several sure to be highlights include a tremendous 6 panel stained and leaded glass scene of a Roman man with wine barrel measuring 7' by 14' tall, a titled 1973 Triumph Bonneville 750 motorcycle, a Hartzell Propeller Company  6 ft prop in original finish and decals on a custom mount, a  unique vintage galvanized tin door door cabinet ca. 1940/50  and a rare collection of several pieces of original Peter Hunt decorated furniture.

The sales conclude with 100 lots of estate jewelry as well as a one owner collection of gold and gold filled pocket watches.
